If you ask me, StampinUP captured Jacqueline Kennedy's classic style and created a card makers most versatile stamp set. Check out the new Beautiful You. This stamp set is perfect for any occasion for almost any woman. Maybe your lifting a friend up, celebrating or consoling her in her time of need. No matter what, this timeless stamp set is quickly becoming one of my favorites.
For this card, I used StampinUP's Beautiful You and High Tide. Being a summer time kind of girl this one just calls to me and these happen to be a few of my favorite colors.
To make this A2 size card you will need:
Early Espresso card stock- This will be your card base and should be 4.25"x 11". Score your card at 5.5" and fold. Remember, turn your card over to fold~ the paper fibers will already be broken and you will have a smoother fold.
Soft Suede card stock- This is the mat layer of your card. Cut this piece to 4" x 5.25". If you want to see less of the Espresso, cut your mat bigger.
Very Vanilla- This is you stamping layer. Cut it to 3.75" x 5". Larger if you want more picture and less mat.
Get your craft sponge and go to town!. Using Early Espresso ink, sponge all over the edges, you're creating a haze effect. Sponge in circles for an even ink tone. Don't worry about getting the same amount of coverage in any one spot- it will all come together.
Using the rippled water stamp from High Tide and still using Early Espresso stamp one row of water and then stamp the dancing lady from Beautiful You just so that her foot is in the water and the sentiment of your choice.
Your last stamp should be the flying birds from High Tide. I used Soft Suede to stamp these, giving them a further away look up in the corner.
Now the fun part- building and embellishing. Using any adhesive of your choice, build the layers of your card- I used a piece of lace to wrap my stamped image and added some pearls to add an even softer touch. I chose Island Indigo to color her hat with a water pen to make it more of a water color. If you want, use a white gel pen and color in her dress- I love the glow this gives her.
Now- go grab your pearls and rock them!
