I love sketch challenges- it takes a lot of the pressure off of the designer. Sometimes when I'm having a craft block, I use old sketches and it helps clear the blocks. Give it try! This wee at Crazy 4 Challenges are we are using the sketch below. Come check it out for more inspiration.
Do you like to travel? Me? Not as much as most. I like to visit my mom in NC and when my son was stationed in SC, I would travel there. He is now in Hawaii and you can bet your bottom dollar I am planning a trip!!
These stamps from Stampin UP's Feeling Sentimental (retired) are gorgeous and fit perfectly into this week's sketch challenge. (I apologize for the retired sets, but you can use any stamp set for this idea.)
A2 Card: (4.25"x 5.5")
Crumb Cake card stock- This will be your card base and should be 8.5"x 5.5". Score your card at 4.25" and fold. Remember, turn your card over to fold~ the paper fibers will already be broken and you will have a smoother fold.
Vanilla card stock- This is the mat layer of your card. Cut this piece to 4" x 4.25".2"x 5" and then cut a strip of Blackberry Bliss card stock to 2"x 5". The blackberry strip will highlight your stamped strips.
Using the same vanilla card stock cut 3 rectangles at 1.5"x 3.5".
Now the fun part- I stamped each stamp as close to the center or just off of each edge with blackberry bliss. This will create a close up look to the images. (Love this technique.)
I inked the edges of all of my vanilla pieces with blackberry bliss ink from Stampin' Up.
Start the layers on your card now- this will allow you to space your stamped images correctly. Note- I used a foam adhesive to give mine a raised look.
I used another retired stamp from Stampin' Up called That's the Ticket. I stamped it 3 times on crumb cake card stock and fussy cut each of them and glued at the end to add the sentiment strip.
Be sure to share your cards with us at Crazy 4 Challenges!
Enjoy your travels!
