As woman, we need to support and raise each other more often then we do. I try to remind the woman in my life often about how important they are and remind them that I do love that they are part of my story.
This sweet Angie Girl from Unity Stamp Co. is Wakely . She's the perfect size for paper piecing. (Paper piecing- stamping an image on patterned paper and fussy cutting to provide clothing (in this case) or design to a stamped image.)
To make this A2 size card you will need:
Black card stock- This will be your card base and should be 4.25"x 11". Score your card at 5.5" and fold. Remember, turn your card over to fold~ the paper fibers will already be broken and you will have a smoother fold.
White card stock- (I used a smooth card stock here so I could blend my Copic Sketch markers.) This is the stamp layer of your card. Cut this piece to 4 1/8" x 5. 5/8". If you want to see more of the Black, cut your base bigger.
I stamped Wakely on the right of my card and the sentiment on the left in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
Now the fun part- choose a patterned paper that suits the theme or style of card you want to make. It's springtime so I used a floral pattern. I stamped her again and only cut out the dress. Note- this is a great way to use paper scraps and it's like playing with paper dolls!
Carefully adhere the dress onto your card stamped image- you could even add some dimensionals for this if you wanted.
I used Copic Sketch markers to color her skin (E00), her boots/ purse (BG96 and BG99) her hair (E79, E39 and E29) and her books (W0 and W3). I'm not a pro at color shading- I just think of where I might see her standing and try to create the shadows as such.
Use a couple of more pieces of scrap paper to make a flag or tag of some sort and adhere.
Now, send this card to a woman in your life for no reason, but to say "Hello, I love you!"
